IF my next pick (1.13) comes up on Wednesday, could somebody text me at 785-371-6382 (new number since last year's draft) and let me know who the three picks were before mine? I've got it marked on my sheet through the Mat Gamel pick, but may not be able to check the computer much (if at all) tomorrow until mid or late afternoon. Thanks guys.

I wish I could say I was sorry... Cuddy for Freeman, we could have made this deal awhile back...minus the extra keeper and first round draft pick you earned by wheeling and dealing when you did...Well played. School was in session...indeed. "Sigh", the rebuilding commences, onward and upward to 2015.

Regarding minimum salaries...are we assuming that ANY player who made below $420,000 last year counts for $420k on our payroll this year? Or are we only assigning the $420k salary to players who made the minimum last year?
For instance, I have players who made above the minimum ($400k) last year, but below $420k. What salary do they count for this year?

My understanding is that regardless of what they actually made last year, we have to use up $420k as a minimum, so all salaries last year which were under $420k must be raised to that number.

I'm not going to be home for the next 9-10 hours and won't be by a computer. I have a cell phone but don't know how good of service I'll get. Either way, I know who I want, so if someone could text me when its my turn & tell me who Rob picked up, I should be able to text back my player. Phone # 219-765-1606

I was going to take Willingham if you didn't. Then I was between Joyce, Jackson, Crisp, and Duda. When Chris texted me that he wanted Joyce, I decided to go with the guy I think will be the best bet to score runs and just hoped Gary wouldn't take him first.

Home! Sorry about the Boesch pick. For some reason, I thought he was a FA when I checked. That's what happens when I don't get a chance to double check.

Colin you had no reason to worry........My OF is set at the moment with Ells/Jennings/Cruz/Grandy and then Ortiz is clogging up the DH slot. Now the waiting begins......21 slots till I get to draft again.....what day will that be? Next Thursday?

Curious if Allen Craig was on anyones radar, or if he would've made it back around to my next pick in the 4th rd?

I don't necessarily need an OF, but he was high on my list.

I was gonna grab Craig, but I figured I'd go infield and then grab up Vernon Wells instead.

The knee surgery scared me off. Me too. I was really high on him until the surgery and the Beltran signing.

Up to 7 of my non-keepers selected already...coulda been had for really cheap 3 weeks ago! Tell me about it. I offered one manager a chunky package of players for 1 guy- which he turned down in favor of keeping that guy and a couple pretty lousy players. His first two picks? Older, inferior, and more expensive versions of the guys I was trying to give him.

If by some miracle the draft speeds up and it's my picks at 3.14 and 3.15 will someone text me? I'm not sure how good my cell coverage will be because I'll be up at Stratton Mountain covering a snowboarding and skiing rail jam.
So if it is my pick and I can't get to somewhere will cell service I apologize in advance.

I hope I channeled a little Billy Beane; watched MoneyBall for the first time last night. Great story! Enjoyed getting a bit of insight (albeit Hollywood) into the life of a GM.
I wonder the direction the original director Soderberg would have taken the film. At any rate, watched it with a non baseball fan who really enjoyed the movie.
If it was not for fantasy sports, I don't think I would stay as tuned in to professional sports the little that I do for as long as I have. What has kept me in sports viewing so long has been my diehard passion to see the Buffalo Bills or Buffalo Sabres win their respective titles.
However, as a Yankee fan from birth, it is harder for me to root for a team and a sport/s that has such an incredible disparity amongst its teams. It is probably not a topic for debate, and more to some insight of appealing to the underdog fan in me.
