P Jeff Niemann will be called up, while P Scott Baker is on the DL...I think this does not count as an option unless he stays on the 30 man roster after SP Baker returns?

First of all an option isn't bringing a player up, it's sending him down. Second, it's not an option if the MiLB player only occupies a spot on the MLB roster while taking the place of a player on the DL.

Options, per MLB definition, are when a team elects to send a player back down to the minors while still MiLB-eligible. Because of that, it automatically carries into this league's rules.

Here you go, this is from the RULES page regarding the MiLB RULES that Mack set up for everyone to READ. Each MiLB player will have 3 options, meaning a player can be sent back to your Minor League roster 3 times. Once the 3 options have been exhausted, the player must remain on your 30-man Major League roster or clear waivers to be returned to the minor leagues. Call-ups due to a player going on the disabled list will not count as a minor league option. If you haven't had a chance to READ the RULES they are located here: www.freewebs.com/thesandlotleague/rules.htmTake a moment to READ them because they are the RULES. Of the league you play in. For 2 years.

Options are used when a player is sent back to the minors, and it does not count if the player was brought because another player went on the DL. Just in case Jackson and Ruck repeating the rules wasn't enough.
