On second thought, I'll just sleep for 5.5 hours to annoy all of you. Send me a PM with your 2 teams. I've already picked and will be around.

Wow, now I'm confused about who my first pick was. I, Howard Berger, being of reasonably sound mind, do hereby proclaim my franchise choices for The Sandlot league: First choice is The Chicago Cubs (in honor of the 100th anniversary of their last WS championship); second choice, if someone is so brash as to take the Cubs, is: The Toronto Blue Jays. You're welcome

Does anyone know oklhsnr? I think his name is Jason, we know he likes the Astros... should we just give them to him, give Kofax the Cubs and move on?

I sent him an e-mail. I'll give him a little time, but I did send out a league-wide e-mail saying we were ready to start drafting a few days ago. Did everyone else get that?

I also saw that the Denver Nuggets GM has only signed on once... January 5th? Does anyone know this kid or should we replace him with Hammerin Hank Wayde?

Same. I think a majority of owners here are - an indication of the number of smart owners we have here.

I guess I'm on the high end at $46 mil? It just means you guys can afford Magglio and Miggy when I trade them

High end doesn't mean anything, really, when you're paying good money for good talent. All the salaries thus far mean is that a number of guys are already good at picking out which players aren't worth their weight in contract dollars. That's all I was saying.

I'm spending 6 M on Gagne... at least you know Borowski can get the job done. Luckily for me, my position player talent on the Brewers is so cheap I can afford to take a flier on Gagne and Sheets and their potential upside despite their relatively expensive contracts.

It's kinda funny too that GMs in today's game would KILL to be able to spend only 4 M on a capable closer. Still can't believe some of the contracts these not-good-enough-to-be-starting pitchers are getting.

Yeah. Definitely agree. That's why we are FLB nerds and they are big-time GMs and owners, right?

You guys are all cheapskates. I've spent $54M already; it's like sending my wife into a store with a credit card; send the luxury tax bill at the end of the month in care of George Steinbrenner. Seriously, it's like Ruck said: it really doesn't matter if you spend it on the franchise keepers or on the draft. BTW, is Steinbrenner still paying Kevin Brown?

I think he's also still paying Cory Lidle.... too soon?

No, I don't think it's too soon anymore. I think the Red Sox were paying Rick Burleson for about a decade after they dropped him. I still don't know why GMs don't just post their potential trades on the Fantasy Message Board like we do. BrianCashmanNYY posts: "Kennedy, Melky and Hughes for Joba--who wins? Or should I try to switch Hughes with Jose Tabata? Need a quick response. Thanks in advance"
