This is for a different league, 20 teams, we can keep between 5 & 12, stats are HR, BB, SB, OBP, & SLG.
I have Trout, Harper, Hosmer, Trumbo, and Brandon Moss taking up all my 1B/OF/Util spots, and at first glance it seems obvious that Moss is the odd man out. However, compare him to Trumbo in these stats, and Moss looks superior. Is Trumbo the odd man out? Maybe Hosmer?
I could keep them all, but the fewer keepers I have means the more early draft picks I get (I'm also keeping Bumgarner, Verlander, and Hamels.)

Moss is out don't overthink it. Don't get rid of Hosmer no matter what.

Player A: 2013 - 34HR, 8% BB%, .294/.453 OBP/SLG 2012 - 32HR, 6.3% BB%, .317/.491 OBP/SLG
Player B: 2013 - 30HR, 9.9% BB%, .337/.522 OBP/SLG 2012 - 21HR, 8.8% BB%, .358/.596 OBP/SLG
I feel like I'd be giving up 100 points of SLG and 40 points of OBP for a few more HR and a bigger name.
I will not give up Hosmer:)

I like Moss better than Trumbo.

I predict Hosmer will earn MVP votes this year. George Brett fixed that kid, left after two months, and then watched the beast unleashed. Finally.
I agree with you that Trumbo's name means more than his stats do. To me, taking a flier on Moss would make a little more sense here. I can see Trumbo's rates dropping a bit across the board while the power remains. Moss will be about the same, maybe a little power regression....but better all-around.

He could hit 40 homers next year and moss could find himself a part time guy again. He played 140+ games last year for the first time in his life. Don't discount the name value either...trumbo would be drafted higher and worth more in a trade probably.

Ended up trading Moss for a 2nd round pick (after keepers.) Also, not keeping him allows me to pick up and extra pick earlier in his place. Sidenote: Variable keepers is comically exploitable. Keep the best of the best, trade the rest.
