I took over a team in a 20-team H2H, and we keep 10 players. At this point, I think I'm keeping all 7 of my hitters:
Brian McCann Adrian Gonzalez Jurickson Profar Elvis Andrus Miguel Cabrera Ben Zobrist Hunter Pence
We have two UTIL spots to fill, but no MI or CI
My other 3 keepers will come from these pitchers:
Jordan Zimmerman Clay Buchholz Jarrod Parker Danny Salazar Jered Weaver Doug Fister Jameson Taillon Dan Haren
To me, Zimmerman is the only sure keeper of that group, then probably Fister.
2nd item: I get harassed with ridiculous trade offers everyday, but I finally got one I didn't reject straight away:
I give: Elvis Andrus and Doug Fister I get: Alex Rios, Matt Davidson, a 10th rd pick and an 11th round pick
I'm considering it because Rios is easily an upgrade over Andrus, and I can move Zobrist to SS. Also, the previous owner traded away a bunch of picks, so I'm left 4 short in the draft. I wouldn't keep Davidson, but I may not keep Fister, either. I could try to substitute Weaver (who I'm not keeping) for Fister...

Assuming you make the trade, here is who I'd keep:
C - Brian McCann 1B - Adrian Gonzalez 2B - Jurickson Profar 3B - Miguel Cabrera SS - Ben Zobrist OF - Hunter Pence OF - Alex Rios SP - Jordan Zimmerman
I could make a case for any combo of these guys for 9 and 10, but I'd personally go with Salazar and Taillon (if you're thinking the future). If not, I'd probably go with the other 2. And even then, I might STILL go with Salazar over Buchholz.

I like Salazar and Taillon as well. I think both will end up better than Parker, I don't trust Buchholz and I'm just trying to get anything for Jered Weaver while his stats still look good.

I like the deal for you and I like Weaver and Salazar. One known commodity and one high-upside commodity. Parker is just too up and down for me right now. He might be another season or two away from putting it all together. Even then, he's more of an SP3/SP2, not an ace like Salazar is. The latter may likely earn some CY votes as early as 2014.

I didn't get the deal. He traded Rios before I could respond. I like Salazar. Does he have 1 upside? I think I want to try use Weaver to get a draft pick because I'm short. I got another potential trade to consider:
I give:
Adrian Gonzalez Elvis Andrus Miguel Cabrera
I get: Ryan Braun Allen Craig Nick Castellanos 2014 4th round pick PLUS, his 1 and 2 round picks in EACH of the next 4 years
Still, is that enough for Cabrera in this type of league? I'm amenable to trading Andrus, and I would like to move Adrain Gonzalez before he starts to decline...

Goodness, yes. I do that deal and don't look back. Gonzo has started his decline, and Miggy's at an all-time high. Braun is a stud (still), and if you look it this deal as essentially Miggy for Braun & Craig (who is one of the best when he stays healthy), Castellanos & a 4th rounder for Andrus (more than fair), and then an extra 1st and 2nd rounder for 4 years for Gonzo. I wouldn't be waiting for him to reconsider...

I was kind of "meh" on that deal until I saw the part about his 1st and 2nd rounders for the next four years. Do that.

I threw in Jarrod Parker just for the hell of it. I'll just move Ben Zobrist to SS, and all I need offensively is another OF and a UTIL, and now I have a ton of draft picks for the future.

The Cabrera deal was vetoed. The other owners didn't like that he offered me those future picks. Now I think I'll offer Cabrera, Andrus, and Gonzalez for Braun, Craig, Castellanos, Jean Segura, two picks in this draft and his first and second round picksnext year.
I figure that's Cabrera for Braun, Castellanos and first & second rounders next year Gonzalez for Craig and a fourth round pick this year Andrus for Segura and a fifth round pick this year
