This is for a 12-team roto 6x6. Offensive categories are R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, and OPS. Pitching categories are W, QS, SV, K, ERA, and WHIP.
Positions are C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, OF, and UTIL. Salaries do not matter.
We keep 5, and I will be drafting 12th in the first round of a snake draft.
My options:
Eric Hosmer Chase Utley Jose Reyes Evan Longoria Ryan Braun Giancarlo Stanton Justin Upton Yasiel Puig Desmond Jennings Adam Wainwright Chris Sale Madison Bumgarner
I know I'm keeping Longoria and Stanton. I'm probably keeping Braun. I was pretty set on keeping Puig until I read the reports about him reporting to Spring Training 30 pounds overweight, so now I'm torn about who to keep for the last two spots. Thoughts? Thanks for your help, guys.

Braun, Longoria, Stanton, Hosmer, and Wainwright or Sale or Bumgarner (they're all about dead even to me). I'd lean toward Sale or Bumgarner for the future, but Wainwright might be the safest. With that being said, I like hitters over pitchers, but I could see a case for keeping another pitcher over Hosmer.

I agree on Braun, Hosmer, Stanton and Longoria. I would probably be tempted to keep another hitter as my last guy. With only 5 keepers there will be a lot of pitching available and in the 12th spot you could grab at least one ace if not 2 b2b. I think it would be less likely to get Puig back than any of the pitchers. Not that keeping a pitcher would be a bad idea but I would think at least 1 of those guys will make it to you at 12.

People reach for the trendy, sexy names. Of all those players, Puig is the player people are reaching for the most, relative to his pre-season rank. You won't get him back. I think the chances are pretty high that Bumgarner and Hosmer (current ADPs are 49 and 56, respectively; people are waiting on these guys) are still around at 12 and 13, and if you do miss Hosmer, I think Abreu wouldn't be a bad replacement. You won't get Braun, Longoria, Stanton, Upton or Wainwright back. You may be able to redraft Sale and Reyes if you like.
I'd keep Braun, Longoria, Stanton, Wainwright and then flip a coin between Upton and Puig, or keep them both and not a SP.

Those pitchers are all awesome, but pitchers break, and you have other great options.
I'm keeping Longoria, Stanton, Braun, Justin Uptin and Puig.

My Five (T-Mobile/Barkley reference in there):
Hosmer Reyes Longoria Braun Stanton/Wainwright
I don't dig the "cross my fingers for counting stats" feeling I get with Stanton, but he's a keeper nevertheless. Wainwright, however, carries a bit more value in a vacuum and at least should be considered. He is an ace.
The crop of shortstops and second baseman is abysmal this year. Reyes should be kept for that reason alone when you consider the chances for upside. He's had some straight-up STUPID luck with injuries, but I think he can play at least 135 games this year. That should be enough games to keep him among the elite options up the middle.

Don't take the risk with Braun. Longoria, Reyes, Stanton, Hosmer, and either Sale or Bumgarner.
