This is becoming my favorite baseball story no one is talking about. Wang was a Rule-5 pick from the Pirates who made the opening day roster for the Brewers, but hasn't pitched yet. Roenicke has said he's waiting for the right moment to put him in, but he's passed on him in multiple blow-out situation in favor of his high-leverage guys. What's he waiting for, and wouldn't he rather be putting that roster spot to use? Is Roenicke making a case for the podium of worst-bullpen-managers in recent memory (currently occupied by Ozzie Guillen, Dusty Baker, and Robin Ventura)?
As a side note, I asked ESPN Fantasy Help to add Wang to the ESPN player database, and they didn't believe me when I said he was on the Brewers 25-man roster! (He's not on their Brewers depth chart.)
He had a 3.86 ERA and 7/0 K/BB in 14 innings this spring, and 42/4 K/BB in 47.1 innings in Rookie ball last year. Put him in the damn game!
