I'm sensing a theme with the first four picks...

Right? It's almost as if young pitchers have value or something...

Yet I got zero offers for 2 of the first 5 picks!

Offseason dealing really seems to have dropped off in this league over the last year or two.

I feel like the Seahawks during this draft. No 1st rounder means it's a LOOOOONG wait.

I mean, who should tell Ripken about Lance Lynn? Is it me, as his former owner? It's a pretty decent pick for 2017, if he gets kept.

I deserve the snark:) The only shocking in my two seasons is that I have never been last! Lance Lynn was a mistake, but 2017/18 was always the plan

Here's something for me to remember for next year...if you're super busy in December and January and can't prepare for the draft, just trade all your picks for next year!

I'm going to have Milwaukee's starting SS, dammit!

I'm going to have Milwaukee's starting SS, dammit! I have always loved Villar and was hoping to get him at the next pick. Or Jace Peterson. How quickly I went from "did I take Jose Ramirez way too early?" to "Phew!"

REMINDER: if you have a pick that was skipped you only have 24 hours after the last pick of this draft to make that selection. Sort of a quiet commentary this year...also, a fun DID YOU KNOW: I haven't picked in the first 2 rounds for two straight years! Both times my first pick were 1B/OF eligible HR hitters who will/likely underachieve! I'm not good at this...

When can we add MLB FA's? Is it after MiLB draft? One of these years I'll remember.

Is there a waiver period or is it just a free for all? Also, when is the deadline to finalize your roster if you have more players than the ESPN page will allow and not have it count against salary?

No waiver period, just a free for all...the MLB FA period opens at an announced time that is TBD (The finalization question is a little clear clear to me, but...) The deadline for roster finalization is a TBD deadline right before the start of the regular season. Ultimately, Matt (or somebody) will update us on specifics as they come up. We also have a posted RULES document in the "General" section where most information is available.

We also have a posted RULES document in the "General" section where most information is available. After the MiLB draft is the 5 day MiLB Free Agent Pick Up Period TM. The day after that is when MLB Free Agency starts, AND it's also the day you have to have to trim down to 30 MLB players and have them all on your ESPN roster. Any MLB player not on an ESPN roster at that point becomes a free agent. The exception is if you have a player who will start the season on the DL but hasn't been placed on the DL in ESPN yet. Teams don't have to conform to salary cap rules until a day or two before the actual season starts.

If I'm reading that right, we need to be down to 30 on our MLB rosters by 11:59pm ET tomorrow (Tue 3/15), correct?

You don't have to be down to 30 players, BUT any MLB eligible players NOT on your ESPN roster or assigned to the DL per the rules, will be fair game for anyone to pick up. It goes into effect at 1 p.m., EST So, at that time, anyone can add any of the eligible players. No manager will be responsible for salary until a few days before the actual start of the season.
