Hi! Here's everything I recorded that came up over the course of the year. If you have anything else you'd like to add to this list, please post below.
1. It has been proposed to disallow the trading of the next year's draft picks until after the current year's draft. (i.e. no trading of 2015 picks until the conclusion of the 2014 draft.) Currently we allow trading of the next year's draft beginning immediately after the keeper deadline of January 1st.
2. It has been proposed that we set a cap on how much cash and how many picks can be dealt for the next season. Currently we have no cap on how much cash or how many picks can be dealt.
3. It has been suggested we change the waiver order to the reverse of the draft order. Currently it is the same as the draft order.
4. I'm proposing we have a slightly longer gap between the keeper deadline and the beginning of the MLB draft, and a slightly longer gap between the MLB draft and the MiLB draft. Currently we have a 7-10 day gap between each, I'd like to make that about 14 days. Our draft process currently ends around the beginning of March, and we also have the option of moving up the keeper deadline.
5. It has been proposed that we revamp how we handle the MiLB free agent pick-ups that follow the conclusion of the MiLB draft. Currently we have a 5 round draft followed by 5 days of free agent pick-ups with a limit of 1 per day, and these free agent pick-ups can be traded. Should we change some or all of these free agent pick-up days to draft rounds? Should we disallow trading of these free agent pick-ups?
6. We have a loophole in our roster limits for MiLB players. Currently, if a MiLB draft pick or free agent pick-up is traded, the team trading it away cannot replace the roster spot. However, if a MiLB player is traded, the team trading him away is allowed to add a replacement player. We can change the rules to allow draft picks and pick-up trades to be replaceable like players, or we can change player trades to be irreplaceable like draft picks or pick-ups.
Please keep in mind that any proposed changes to how we fundamentally do keepers or the draft would not take affect until the 2015 draft.
Thanks,
Matt
