Putting in a claim.
If I did the math right he should have entered waivers at 8 am on Tuesday and the waiver period ends at 8 am today.

was hoping he'd make it to Free Agency. I'll put in a claim as well.

Damn. So I should have just grabbed him at 8? Not sure what the waiver order is

Did we ever decide not to reset or did it change with the draft?

I've been watching him, too, and I thought he became a free agent at 12:01 a.m. Friday.

Did we ever decide not to reset or did it change with the draft? The rule stayed the same, so the waiver order is the same as the draft order. Guess I'm out on Drury.

According to my records, he lost milb eligibility on May 3. So the 7-day grace period began on May 4 at 8am. The two-day waiver period began on May 11 at 8am.

So I guess I lose out. That sucks. We should really figure out a better way to do waivers. It really is a disadvantage to have to post waivers where everyone can see. It basically just rewards the higher waiver spots and screws the low waiver spots. I'm pretty sure nobody would have claimed him if I didn't first. I get that we have always done it that way so I'm cool with it, but the system is definitely flawed

I get the feeling waivers would actually matter a lot more if people had to use them if they wanted a guy, instead of just waiting to vulture guys after someone makes a claim. If you are in the top spot you can stay there until forced to do otherwise. If you are low on the order you basically have no choice but to wait for FA. I completely screwed myself by using waivers instead of just grabbing him at 8 am. I think I understand why in the history of the league we have made like 5 waiver claims

I agree that we should look at this. For what it's worth, I was monitoring Drury for the past week, and was hoping to wait until 8am tomorrow and try to grab him first. Wasn't wanting to use my waiver claim unless someone else did before tomorrow.

If it were possible, I think doing some sort of blind waivers would make the most sense. If I decided to put in a claim, I would not know if anyone else did.

We definitely have a new issue to look into. We'll address it for next season and try to figure Something out.
I was also waiting for Drury to become a FA so as not to tip anyone else off, in case I was the only one paying attention.

I can't think of a way to blind waiver claims on the Internet, but that would be the bet solution. Otherwise, new free agents will go to the guy that sets his alarm early and has the fastest internet connection.

Brandon Drury entered waivers Wednesday, May 11 at 12:00 a.m., EST and the two day period would have ended Friday, May 13 at 12:00 a.m.
I've also been tracking him for the past three weeks, but with the fourth-to-last waiver I didn't think I stood much of a chance unless people weren't paying attention and obviously they were.

Everyone was tracking Drury. The way we have waivers can be modified but the reason we've had 5 waiver claims in a decade is because this should never happen. Everytime has been when someone fell asleep at the wheel and fucked up. Leagues this deep shouldn't be handing players like Drury to teams for free, it's the reason we draft/keep 500+ players. Change the waivers to whatever system we want, but the core problem will remain- owners just not paying attention.

Shit, that sucks! But at least there was a little excitement here for a bit. What's worse is I have Drury in my other league and play him every day.
