If you look at Buckner's team he owns Slowey. He's hyping Slowey. Give it a couple of days he probably will have Slowey in the trade block.
Whoever drafts Barton, make sure Buckner pays out of his ass.

The Slowey/Baily discussion is retarded.
Slowey is a nice player, but he's never been a hyped prospect. He doesn't strike anybody out, and he figures to be a 3-4 starter. I like him, I liked him enough to keep him when I picked the Twins franchise. I think he'll be a decent player, but you can't compare him to Bailey, who might not amount to shit, but as far as value, reputation, and ranking among prospects, Homer Bailey smashes Kevin Slowey.

Ok slowey doesnt K anyone? In the minors he averages just under a k an inning.

And after the break his K/9 rate incresed a decent amount. What you would like to see from a young pitcher adjusting to the bigs

Although i do agree with you that he isnt a K artist like Bailey who has a great k rate.

Actually you're right...last year he had about 150 K in 200 innings between minors and majors. Not bad. He's not Homer though.

I agree. The whole point of my earliest comment was to say that he doesnt get much credit. Homer has HUGE upside. Slowey has already started to make the adjustment to the majors. Even though his era was "high", not bad for a young guy, his whip was reletively low 1.39 so that tells me his era should follow.

I would bet he has a better year this year than Bailey, but definitely not a better career. Slowey had a a usable stretch last year as a rookie when he first came up, and you know he'll get every chance this year now that Johan and Carlos Silva are gone.

lol what can i say. You just have to learn to read in between the lines. Ill admit after going back ive seen bailey ranked hugher., But i still have seen slowey ranked higher on a few sights.. i think mlb.com released a ranking with him at like 6 and bailey at like 9

There are sites that rank prospects based on their likelihood to have an impact in that year alone, not over the course of their careers. Many other sites focus on the latter.
So if Slowey were ever ranked above Bailey, the sites may have been judging the two based on which will contribute more in that year alone as opposed to a comparison of career potential. Otherwise I cannot fathom how Slowey would be given the nod for having better career upside than Bailey.
Perhaps that's where the confusion lies. Who knows?
Meanwhile, I'm a little askflewkauhgfn right now seeing my boys get taken before I get a chance to go, lol. Drat!

Cant see someone passing on Magglio for rasmus.. Even in a keeper league Mags will put up better numbers for 2-3 years imo.
