Hello, this is Matt (Bobby Ayala) your friendly local co-commish.
Everyone please vote on whether or not the salary cap should go up. We'll find a compromise based on the results of the vote.
Don't worry about dropping people on ESPN, I apparently have LM access to the ESPN page, so I'll drop non-kept players after the deadline.
If you have anything else you want to discuss, post it here.

Waivers!
Last year, we unfortunately messed up and played the whole season with no waiver system in ESPN, and we had to piece together a waiver system on these boards. This year, we can correct that, so ESPN will have it's own waiver system and no one will have to post anything here until they win the waiver claim.
A problem with that, however, is in adding and dropping your own minor leaguers. With a 2-day standard waiver system on ESPN, we will be unable to option a minor leaguer down and call him up again within the 2 day limit.
Any ideas on a middle ground? If you wanted to do it you could email me or Mack and we could do it manually, but we couldn't promise we'd get your email or be able to do it in time. Still, correcting the waiver system for normal players seems to be more important.

Correct if I'm wrong, which I often am, but I don't remember a lot, if any, major problems with the waiver system. A foreseeable problem, aside from optioning minor league eligible players would be if someone picked up a minor league eligible player that belong to someone else accidentially then had to drop them it would take an action by the League Manager to bypass the waiver system.
I vote for leaving the system the way it is. I think we have a great group of managers that know the rules and as long as the waiver system is clearly stated we shouldn't have any major problems.

So by compromise, that does not mean majority vote?

So by compromise, that does not mean majority vote? What I mean is there are 10 options to vote for and 16 voters, so unless 9 people vote for the same thing, we'll have to find a happy medium. i.e. 6 people vote for $5 mil 4 people vote for $6 mil 5 people vote for $7 mil so we'll probably go with $6 mil. This is how I got my reputation as the dictator of this league. I'm drunk with power...

All non-kept players have been dropped on ESPN, except for Mack's.
Assuming Mack doesn't post his keepers for another week, we should set a draft start date for sometime early the 2nd week of January, like the 11th?
