Well here's a shot in the dark:
Justin Duchscherer, SP BAL, $1,750,000
I couldn't find him on COT's, if the salary isn't correct my bad.

He's listed under the Orioles, right after Jim Johnson. The $1,750,000 is correct.

First off, i wanted Burrell
Second, Tecuala and I were having a conversation on this...
# DFA by Tampa Bay 5/15/10, released 5/19/10 # signed by San Francisco as a free agent 5/29/10 (minor-league contract)
So, shouldn't he be $400,000 since his previous contract is void?

No because he was paid $9 mil last year, so that's what he costs. At least that's how I read it.

Tampa DFA'd him and paid him off, at which point he became a free agent. I think his free agency is the key point here...at that point, his next contract is the one that should be used for Sandlot purposes. He then signed a MiLB contract with SF, ending the season making the ML minimum for time spent in the majors. For some reason, I thought we had this same discussion for a player in last year's draft.

It's never been about free agency or the last contract, it's about the previous season's base salary...Again- That's the way I've always understood it not saying that's the answer.

Doesn't matter that he was DFA'd by Tampa Bay. He was paid $9,000,000 last year. San Francisco paid the league minimum, and TB paid the rest. The $9M contract doesn't get voided when you designate a player for assignment. Once Burrell becomes a free agent, anybody can sign him for the league minimum, and TB is on the hook for the rest, so his salary here is $9M.
