When a MLB player is dropped by a team, they go on waivers for 48 hours. During that time any other team can make a waiver claim, posted in a new thread on this board. If multiple teams post a claim for the same player, the team with the highest waiver priority posted within the 48 hour period will win the player. The winning team has to add the player on ESPN within 24 hours of winning the claim, or the player gets awarded to whoever had the next highest claim. Whoever wins the player is required to post any dropped or optioned players as normal that come as a result of adding the claimed player.
If no one claims a player, they become a Free Agent after the 48 hour period is up.
The 48 hour clock starts when the player is dropped on either these boards or the ESPN page, whichever came first.
Waivers are disabled on ESPN, players go straight to Free Agency, so please do not pick them up on ESPN until after 48 hours.
If you'd like to put in claim for a player on waivers, start a thread with the player's name and salary in the title. If you want to put in a claim for a player who already has a thread started, put in your claim as a response to that thread.

2013 Update:
Waivers -Waiver priority is the same as the draft order, prior to trades. -To claim a player on waivers, post a new thread in the “Waivers” section of the Proboard. If multiple teams post a claim for the same player, the team with the highest waiver priority posted within the 48 hour period will win the player. The winning team has to add the player on ESPN within 24 hours of winning the claim, or the player gets awarded to whoever had the next highest claim. In these cases, both the team(s) with the higher waiver priority and the team that eventually gets the player have their waiver priority bumped back to the bottom in reverse order of previous waiver priority. Whoever wins the player is required to post any dropped or optioned players as normal that come as a result of adding the claimed player. -The manager who drops the player is not eligible to place a waiver claim on the dropped player. -Waivers are disabled on the ESPN page and dropped players go straight to Free Agency. It is the responsibility of each manager to make sure the necessary time has passed before picking up a player.

2013 Update: -Waiver priority is determined at the beginning of each Draftseason by reverse order of the draft. You mean the same order as the draft, right?
