Not first come, first serve; every player will go through waivers according to ESPN rules before becoming a free agent. You make can a claim or wait for him to become a FA. Yes, we'll still use 2007 salaries this year. Make sure you read all of the rules, because there are salary obligations for players you drop.

I made a date. It's on the website. Free agency starts 3 days after the draft, after all players go throught the 3 day waiver period. There will be a waiver order, which will be the reverse of the MLB player draft.

It should be the opposite of the team draft as the Bottom end of Mlb draft already get Number 1 MILB. either that or it should be random. No way should it be opposite of MLB draft.

Just think. At pick number 16, he gets 2 picks in the top 17 players, 1st overall MILB, and you wanna throw #1 waiver on top of it.. Just doesnt seem fair.

Funny that the guy who would be close to last in waiver priority is the one protesting:)
The reason it's fair is because the top few MLB picks were worth more than anything in the league as far as trade value. No one would've traded me Francoeur just to move up 3 spots to get pick #15. No one wanted to trade up in the franchise draft. No one has made an offer for the #2 minor league pick. You got a sure-fire all-star in those top few picks, whereas Keyser had to take a young guy with risks.
Besides, #1 waiver priority doesn't mean that much in a 16 team league with 30 man rosters, there's not going to be anybody of note left.

Ok, But you also got pay rolls like 15 mil with a top player. He got a good young 2b and very good young Sp and will be getting a stud minor leaguer. Im not arguing for arguing sake, but for the fact that i just think it would be more fair if it was random. What you forget is that if he choses to not use the Waiver pick now he could possibly pick up a stud with a high payroll who gets dropped later.

waaaaaah the keyser has mad drafting skills so he shouldnt get the #1 waiver waaaaha. J/k. but seriously who's going to be available for me. Well there could always b carlos pena version 2008. and as highly touted as bruce is he is still just potential so i deserve the #1 ww for picking last. Sry kinsler and cain dropped. And payroll space doesnt mean very much here since we dont give out our own contracts, a la an auction free agency period. It will only matter for some trades. And we havent decided if were keeping whole rosters yet (which we should, cause payroll space will mean next to nothing if we dont)

No but i also had to tarde to get this pick. I got stuck with the last pick of the team draft, 4th of major draft, and last of minor.. I would trade phillips for kinsler cain and bruce.
