Buckner defended that trade, while Pervin' was nowhere. Buckner, How did you get him to deal Vlad for nothing? Tell me your secret...
Instead of a commissioner who is judge & jury on all trades, I recommend we install a vetoing process. If we had one in place, I believe the Vlad trade would have been rejected.
You wrote: "but I'm not going to veto it. Not in a long-term keeper." Are you ever going to veto a trade or all trades will be processed immediately?

When I decided to set this league up, I took careful consideration of every owner invited, whether I initially extended that invitation or an owner expressed interest to me. I think we can all agree that this is diverse group with some considerable fantasy baseball knowledge. That said, the main reason I did not bother with a trade review process is that I don't feel that it's up to the league to tell another owner how to manage his team. I made the rules and settings based on my own experience and knowledge along with some input from other fantasy baseball players, but how each person manages his own team within those settings is completely his decision. I feel the selection process for the owners of this league makes that possible. We all have plenty of experience, I'm pretty sure we've all won before, and no one would have joined this league if they didn't want to compete for a championship. Now, are we all going to agree on every trade? No. There have been several trades that I wouldn't personally have even considered, but that's the way it is. We don't even agree about each player's value. I don't think Vladimir Guerrero is still a top-10 OF, but that's me. The point is, unless someone is cheating, there's really no need to discuss vetoing a trade. If something seems suspicious, I will certainly take the opinion of the rest of the league, but I'll think you'll find, in this case, that you'd be very hard-pressed to find a majority of owners who would veto this deal.

or moreso, maybe a trade committe requiring 2/3 votes to process a trade. im in no way suggesting mack will take advantage, but he's just processing his own trades as of now, some might not like that. the problem is though that if go to a vetoing system a fair trade that could propel a guy who's in first place to untouchable may get wrongfully vetoed. i dont think anyone here will be collusive so vetoing shouldnt even be an option. but if we were to change something, maybe we should have a small trade committee

Like I said, we all have different opinions. At $13,500,000, there are definitely 10 OF I'd rather have. You've completely missed the point, as usual.

OK Lunatic. I understand your point and I might be wrong considering salary obligation, like I said before I never played in a league as complexed as this.

This league is about as close as you can get to real baseball without being a full sim league, and I for one love it.
No vetos should ever be necessary in this league. I do think that there will be plenty of trades that would never happen in regular leagues or even other keeper leagues, but we have to remember that not all teams were created equally in this league at the beginning. Beacuse there so many keepers from real MLB teams, some of us were built to compete right away, while others started at a disadvantage, and it makes sense to take a 12th place finish for one year to set yourself up to be a power for the next 5 years.

On another note, for those of you who decided not to read the rules on our website, finishing last DOES NOT get you the first pick in the draft. That should be incentive enough to stay competitive. I set it this way for exactly that reason. Some of you may want to read up. I told you this would be different, and not easy.
