I live in NJ with a apartment in NY for work...I really want to move out from this area and start a new life.... Anyone know outside from NJ/NY areas from your state is a good place to transfer from State Union to State Union where theirs alot of busy Union carpentry where I'll stay busy, make good money and start a new life? A strictly Union state, not a right to work stae...

Sorry, VA is a right-to-work state, and everybody I know in carpentry, construction, drywall or whatever work about 5 months a year and are laid off the rest.

I don't know if Texas is union or right to work, but I do know that there is a ton of construction (housing, businesses, roads) everywhere. We are experiencing crazy growth.

North Carolina is a right to work, but it's beautiful, it's growing really fast, and Charlotte was one of only 3 cites in the country where the value of a home went up last year.

I'm not 100% sure if Iowa is a Union State, I know there are local carpentry unions, but it is a great place to hit the restart button. I'm sure it's quite a bit different than NY/NJ, but maybe that's what you are looking for.

Shit I'll move anywhere right about now, but I really have to go somewhere where the work is, this is my career/lively hood. I know most South states are great for the Union, while the North sucks for Union workers.

Here's some info for you:
The following 22 states are right-to-work states:
Alabama Arizona Arkansas Florida Georgia Idaho Iowa Kansas Louisiana Mississippi Nebraska Nevada North Carolina North Dakota Oklahoma South Carolina South Dakota Tennessee Texas Utah Virginia Wyoming
That's 22 you can eliminate.
