My Thoughts:1. Any objections to starting the draft 8am Tuesday, Jan 10th? - The 10th sounds fine, but I am good with whatever the majority says.
2. Changes we want to make to the draft set up for next offseason. - I think that the draft order (or the way that it is is determined) needs to change. I would much rather it be traditional, or if that is out of the question, a lottery-type system. Perhaps we can leave out the top X teams and place them in reverse order tacked on at the end. It would be more fair to the truly talent-lacking teams, and it would render tanking pointless (or more so than it currently is).
3. ESPN now allows larger rosters, up to 40 players. Should we add another bench or IR spot? - One more IR spot would be good. But I think that the rosters are deep enough.
4. Should we raise the minimum salary? Between 2010 and 2011 the minimum salary went from $400k to $414k. - I think it has to be raised to reflect reality.
5. Should we raise the salary cap? The average salary went from $3,014,572 in 2010 to $3,095,183 last year. - The overall average salary increased 2.67%, so I would agree to raise the salary caps by that amount. This would be equal to $128.33M. I would be OK with making it $128M or an even $130M.
6. Should we adjust the fines? - Yes, the fines need to be amended. You have one rule that says if you make a trade that indicates collusion or tanking, you can be kicked out of the league. However, if you sit every single hitter on your team for an entire month at the end of the season, you can pay $8.4M and have no repercussions (other than the other owners bitching about it). I think that if you are found to be hindering the integrity of your team (tanking, collusion, etc), there has to be a worse punishment than $25k per diem.
7. Anything else you can think of that we should decide now? - Yes, we should vote on a new rule that says that only players who are free agents at the conclusion of our season are available to be picked up in the offseason. This prevents us from having to wait (and wait) to drop guys that we don't want to keep, but don't want other teams to pick up. In effect, all players who are on a roster at the end of the season are off-limits (other than by trade) until the following year's draft. We could also extend that lock date (maybe one week after the season ends or after the last WS game?)

Something absolutely has to be done about this. I'm all for a lottery draft system too for the lower ranked teams.
