-When an MLB player is dropped, they enter a Waiver period that lasts 48 hours. After the 48 hours are up, the player becomes a Free Agent. Whichever site they were dropped on first, Proboards or ESPN, has the official clock in this situation. -All MLB drops must be either posted on the appropriate board or included in the post of the corresponding addition/call-up/activation, and must include the following information: Player Name and the amount of salary you’re responsible for. -Teams will be responsible for half an MLB player’s salary unless the player is dropped to make room for another player coming off the DL, or to make room for an MiLB player who has lost MiLB eligibility and is added to the MLB roster. In both cases, the dropping of the MLB player must happen at the same time as the activation from the DL/adding of the MiLB player to the MLB roster. -If a dropped player is claimed via Waivers or added as a Free Agent at any time, the dropping manager is no longer responsible for any of the player’s salary. If the dropping manager picks the dropped player up again, they are once again responsible for the full salary as normal.
