I wonder how many of the players I didn't keep will be taken in the first round ... I'm taking over under at 5. I'm guessing over ... Final tally: 2

Seeing Romo drop to pick 5 in the 2nd round is great position for him. I'm a little pissed off now. But this is why we make contingency plans.

I wanted to take him with my first pick, but I figured Rodney was a better bet for saves (regardless of who will have better peripherals.) Something like 15 closers were drafted between my 2nd and 3rd round picks last year, so I had to grab them now...

Yeah, I hate taking closers this early, but there's a finite number of them and it'd be really difficult to win this league without saves.

I can't believe nobody got into the Hall of Fame. It's one thing to punish the suspected PED users, but how does Biggio not get in?

Anybody that didn't nominate Biggio shouldn't have a vote in the process. Putting up the numbers he did after starting as a catcher, playing second and then moving again to the OF should have made him a lock. How many other people made an Allstate game at catcher 1 year then went as a second baseman the next year. Hell how many people have moved from catcher to 2nd and become a multi time gold glove winner?
Makes me think the voting process is ridiculous.

Something I didn't know until today is that he got 1000 hits at each C, 2B, and CF.
He'll make it next year- I think a lot of voters won't vote anyone in on their first ballot, unless they're super elite hall of famers. Like Maddux next year.
I think Morris comes up short next year, poor guy. Piazza might make it next year. Glavine maybe too.

I think Maddux and Glavine are locks next year. Biggio will get in then, too, and so will Frank Thomas. Piazza definitely should.

I would have voted in Bonds, Clemens, Bagwell, and Edgar Martinez this year. I understand making Bonds and Clemens wait, but Bags is getting jerked around and Edgar gets no love. Jack Morris is like Blyleven to me, really good but not HOF.
Biggio was a great player, but not a first ballot guy. He goes in next year with Piazza. Sosa, Palmeiro, and Big Mac never get in.
Glavine and Big Hurt are first ballot guys to me.
Maddux could have gone in the day he retired.

I think steroid use was a result of the era, and I'm not bitter about it anymore. I'd vote the very best guys first -- Bonds and Clemens -- because they had brilliant careers and broke records.
I don't believe Jack Morris is a Hall of Famer whatsoever.
Craig Biggio is, but he's not a first-ballot guy. However he is the only player to accumulate 1,000 or more hits playing three different positions on his way to 3,000; I contribute that to an interesting factoid more than I do a true achievement, but that's just me.
Jeff Bagwell is a maybe for me, simply because his numbers are borderline, but I think if Chipper Jones is a first-ballot guy, Bagwell ought to be, too.
Frank Thomas? You can put it on the boooooooooooooaaaaard, YES!!! (followed by Hawk Harrelson's on-air orgasm)
Edgar Martinez? Absolutely.
Sammy Sosa? Um I don't know. Has there ever been a more useless 600-HR Club member in baseball history?

Goddamn it Colin, I'm tired of waiting for you every time it's your turn to pick. I don't have all day.

Guys, this is a friendly reminder to add the player you've drafted to your ESPN roster.

Keppinger was a great pick, I only took Infante over him because of durability. With Morel and Beckham behind him, Ventura would probably love to start Kepp at both 2nd and 3rd everyday.

Infante probably scores more runs than Keppinger this season, but I'm just hoping Kepp plays regularly.

I agree and ive picked up all my players, just saying anyone relying on it is going to be fucked. Happens every year.
