Congrats, Foulke may be my newest nominee for "worst pick of the draft," though I don't think anything will ever top Alex Gordon #7 overall. Probably 50/50 that Foulke gets cut before the season starts, and with soooooo many set up guys left, including the A's own Calero or Duscherer, why choose the most expensive, oldest, greatest injury risk?

Bobby, I really hope you're being sarcastic considering:
1) Calero, Duchscherer, and a slew of other A's all met the DL or season-ending surgery last season
2) Foulke is 35, two years younger than Al Reyes at age 37
3) Foulke has better career numbers than Alan Embree, who I really don't like to repeat his 2007 numbers
4) Reports indicate that Foulke is being brought in to split eighth-inning duties with Embree for the A's, pushing Calero and Duchscherer to more middle relief work and NOT setting up in the eighth. As long as he's feeling good and throwing without pain, there isn't much to lose out on here.
I also don't need to remind you about the MiLB picks, who can easily take the place of any or even all of the players from rounds 16-20 if eligible.
I could go on but I'm worried it would imply I'm actually mad when I'm really just giving you a lot of shit for a high-brow opinion based on no facts whatsoever, lol.

He gave up $5 mil and said "My body just doesn't respond like it used to." 1 year is supposed to make a difference? I still like Duscherer and two straight sub-3 ERA years 2005,06. 5 years younger. Hasn't "retired." lol, just because some ESPN article says "Foulke is expected to complement Alan Embree as a setup man for closer Huston Street" in February, doesn't mean anything man. |

If Mack sought you out or let you in, you're probably a good owner by default and don't need us to continually tell you so. There a few owners here who are primadonnas and it annoys me to NO end, so shut the fuck up about it already.
Remember - it's a game. And you don't make yourself look like a good owner in this GAME by putting others down. You make a good owner by drafting and adjusting accordingly, acting boldly, thinking loudly, and winning convincingly.

And think about this in considering how pointless your comments really are:
16 teams X (10 keepers + 5 prospects) = 240 players held. 240 + 263 = 503, making this the 503rd player taken overall.
Are you going to tell me pick #503, essentially, was so horrible that it required your pointing it out in that manner? And then you'll couple that with my bold and perhaps ill-advised first round pick? No offense to you (well, maybe a little), but get a grip on reality before you go mouthing off about another owner's drafting skills.

I just don't agree with jabbing like that when all of the picks at this point are 100% useless and carry little to no bearing on any team. I have five MiLB-eligible targets in mind who will likely start over these final five picks anyway, so there is no point in over-analyzing any one of them. That's all I'm saying.
