I vote that we make it a rule to lock the MLB draft once the MiLB draft starts, and then not open it back up until free agency starts.

I second this motion.......he added Myers today because he was just named the closer for Houston. I third this motion. Something like a 24 hour window to draft players after the last pick's window expires. Obviously this is a circumventing of the draft/free agent structure of the league, and if we had thought of this we would already have a rule against it.

I don't think this pick should be allowed, and would submit that we already have a rule in place that this pick violates.
If the MiLB draft is not to start until 1 week after the completion of the MLB draft, which is an agreed upon rule, then announcing the start date of (and actually starting) the MiLB draft w/o objection is the same as everyone agreeing the MLB draft is complete. Thus no more picks should be allowed until the FA period in my opinion.

I vote that Josh is one clever motherfucker and I wish I had thought of this first...well done sir. I second this as well. I also support locking the draft 24 hours after the final pick expires. Matt is right; we'd already have a rule against this if any of us had thought of it first. I don't like idea of not allowing the pick based on the implication of a rule, though.

So we really needed to make a rule that explicitly said "You can not make an MLB draft pick after the draft has concluded"? Because that's what just happened here.

Nobody brought this up when Ninja made three MLB picks about 15 hours before the MiLB draft began. Is this just an issue because we see more value in the pick Josh made?

Well in Ninjas defense, he hadn't logged in here until he made those picks, and then he made up all of his missed picks. It just looks underhanded to be continually present on the boards and wait to drop the sandbag after a player attains a boatload of value.

If he had just drafted Miguel Tejada nobody would say shit.
Don't hate on the craftiness, change the rule, he keeps the player, move on down the road is my opinion.
