Going to re-post this as I am still looking for a deal:
Anyone want to talk deals? I aim to acquire another eighth-round pick either before or shortly after my 8.7 pick. Let me know if there is interest as I can package two picks or an MLB + 3rd-round MiLB package (extra pick from Soze).

I know if someone got skipped in their pick, then I would be all over it like Jimi Hendry was. Seems like their should have been a couple of more picks since then.

All in all, he's still a tier above Adam LaRoche. I don't see it. All their stats were close last year, so factor -The park effect, Oakland vs Yankee stadium -Moving to a weaker lineup -The natural degading of skills and power due to age I think LaRoche is the better option. If he can avoid a slow start he can hit 30 HR .285/.370, and you'd be lucky to get that from Giambi. firstinning.com/pf/?type=lhh&lg=AL&season=2008Oakland is harder to hit singles, doubles, & triples for LH hitters, but HR has the same park factor for both parks. The lineup may be weaker, but his chances will depend on where he hits in relation to Holliday. My guess would be as cleanup right after Holliday. Plus, Oakland's OBP heavy focus should be conducive to a good amount of RBI chances. Not as many as in NY, but still not bad. Holliday & Giambi will change the dynamics to that entire lineup. Every hitter in the lineup before those 2 will see better pitches. Every hitter after them will have more RBI chances. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Last year, Jack Cust was the most productive batter on the whole team! Mark Ellis had the 5th most AB's, but only played in 117 games. Saying "if LaRoche doesn't start out slow" is like wishing in one hand & shitting in the other.

& yes, this is pretty much a non-argument with no point whatsoever talking about 2 players that will probably not make a huge difference one way or the other. But, it's the offseason & there's nothing else to argue about right now....soooooo

Seriously. Where's the tenacity in skipping people we all saw last year?

Seriously. Where's the tenacity in skipping people we all saw last year? HELL YEAH! Last year, people were clamoring to skip. This year, nobody seems to care.

Well, he had a nice second half, and has pretty good stuff. We'll see. I was actually going to take Pelfrey there, but I'm happy with De La Rosa.

His 2nd half was very good. And he had a pretty good k rate, and is cheap.

I love anybody who strikes out a batter an inning.

His 2nd half was very good. And he had a pretty good k rate, and is cheap. k rate is good, but 5.55 ERA in 404 career IP. walks almost 5 guys per 9. i'm not trying to knock the pick, i honestly want to know if i overlooked a guy. i'll have a few more drafts in before the season begins and i use this league as a measuring stick. maybe i'll have to give him another look.

I think he's worth a late round flier in other leagues. He went so early here because of his price tag.

DeLaRosa is a nice pick and I was considering him with this pick, but I'm not sure he's guaranteed a space in the Rockies rotation. Injuries happen. Good luck
