He lasted that long because his AVG and OBP are horrid for a guy of his talents. He's the bittersweet OF3 option in any fantasy league setting.

So is Ankiel & Chris Young. Didn't stop them from being taken in the 3rd round & the other from being kept. I know salary is a concern, but he's $5 mil, not exactly Giambi money. I guess it just goes to show that OF is still pretty deep this year.

Isn't he 35 or 36 also? That may be why. Who knows? We've seen stranger things happen in this draft already. I believe that's what makes all of this so exciting (that and I drink and toke for a great deal of it as it moves along).

Crazy draft. Especially from this angle. With 30 picks in between my current & next pick, I really have NO clue whatsoever who to expect will drop to me or not.

Chris Ray is $445,000 for 2008, not $850,000
And I texted Mack, I'll post his pick if he gets back to me.

I think Ray could have a pretty good season. I don't think he will automatically take over the closer role, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened eventually. All depends on how he bounces back from surgery. He was on my list but I didn't think he would go so soon.

I hope Mack texts that pick tonight. Nellie's didn't take my guy, so I need to draft him now before he goes in the next five picks or so.

He was one of the top 5 SP left, in my opinion. Not a bad pick.

Nah, he is still slightly under the radar after being completely under the radar last season. Fine pick given the momentum shift in recent rounds.

I don't know how I feel about picking Lohse. Too soon? No bad picks in the 18th round of a 16 teamer I think.

If I can pick before dinner tonight (eating with the GM of the AA Mets affiliate around 7 p.m.), I'll be stoked.

You should pick after dinner and see if you can get him to tell you some sleeper picks

Has everyone added their picks on ESPN? Just making sure the guys I am lining up to pick aren't already taken.

The Mets' best minor leaguers are below AA, unless Fernando Martinez comes back to Binghamton to work out mechanical issues and, oh I don't know, NOT be pressured through the system for once. I don't like that many players from the Mets' farm system, but maybe this guy will know.

I love how we wait for the same people every round.
I'll say for the 5th time. Leave a cell number and you won't get skipped.
