Frasor could be a great pick...isn't he closing for Toronto this year? Or does anyone, including Frasor, even know who is closing for Toronto this year?

The Cubs looked into him, but who knows? Frasor, as of now, is the team's closer. But that may change depending on Josh Roenicke's role with the club in 2010. I would assume Roenicke is the eventual favorite while Frasor poses as the stop-gap option to start the year.

They have 4 guys with closer experience in that bullpen, Frasor, Downs, Accardo, and assuming he won't be a starter, Morrow. Frasor only appears to have the job because he was doing it most recently. Late last year the old GM said Downs would not return to the closer role in 2010, but he's out so who knows. This closer job will be decided in spring training.

quote] I hope the next 100 picks are all holds guys. I don't know about that...a lot of people still need to fill starting roles for position players. It's a nice hope, though.

My point is I'd love it if everyone started taking middle relievers, leaving the valueable players on the board. The majority of the really good holds/ratios guys turns over every year. Aside from a few guys, it's like taking a kicker mid way through the draft. Be my guest!

Unless Shannon shows up to make his picks in the next 30 seconds, I'll be in class for the rest of the afternoon and won't be able to make my picks until about 5:00 CT. Sorry, guys.

Who cares about work, what is more important fantasy baseball or work? just kidding Chris. work an family always comes first........ 9 picks in two days.....I wanted Byrd an I was going to get him, now I just hope...... You could say 9 picks in 2 days, or you could say 5 rounds in 7 days. Last year it took us 10 days to get this far.... Notable 5th round picks from 2009, Aaron Hill and Chris Carpenter....all these people complaining about the lack of talent.....trade me your picks I see a ton of guys I want. I'm drafting in a similar league right now, and we've made it through 9.5 rounds since the draft began on December 5. Despite my strong advice to the contrary, the LM is allowing 24 hours between picks, and some guys are still getting skipped. I think about quitting everyday. I still don't think this league will make it past this season. The Sandlot is the only league this complicated that has any sustainability...

You could make a pick and potentially not pick again for two weeks. 24 hours is ridiculous, and gives no incentive for guys to check in on the draft, and therefore nobody has much invested.

For all the complaining Gary does about the draft lagging (even though people like me are sending texts and updating the picks) he ends up clogging the thing with almost every pick. Leaving a home number like anyone wants to call his grumpy ass.
Get a jitterbug you asshole!

I like how the nerd-speak satire has caught fire here! ROFLTRENDSTARTER You know what I like? The fact that Gary was online and responded to Jackson talking smack, but didn't make his pick. That's hilarious. And then, like two seconds after I post this, he's back and makes his pick. Guess I look like a dumbass now.

to the league owners that read my post. Sorry for the fit of anger.
Colin that wasn't smack, what Jackson wrote was meant to hurt. All I write is text this person, I don't write personal attacks.

I'm pretty sure I can dig up a few posts that might suggest otherwise. Seriously though, everybody, both drafts are still going to be over with long before we even know if David Freese is the opening day 3B for the Cardinals. If people take awhile to make their picks, so be it. Have patience, children. If you are rooted in the Tao, the forces of the Earth will support you.

I feel like I've been stabbed in the kidney with a knife that lay in a fire for a week, and someone is constantly tapping on it with a hammer, every time I cough I feel like an organ is going to come up, and I can't hear out of my left ear very well. I'd like to finish the draft before I'm playing fantasy baseball with my dad.... .....too soon?
