Since I'm bored, Pick of the 2nd round?
Andres Torres broke through the scene with a very impressive year. He's a guy that can flirt with 20/30 year next year. Rajai Davis will steal 40-50 with a decent average. The move to Toronto bodes well for his runs/RBI's. He's Juan Pierre with enough RBI's to not become a drain there, and if he can bring his BB% back up to '09 form, he's Ellsbury which is hella-value for the 218th player.
I'd say Davis.

Both amazing value where they were taken, Drew Storen was the sneaky young guy pick, since closers get kept in this league he looks like the best keeper.

Damn you Colin. I was teetering between Sanchez & Desmond, but thought I needed the pitcher more. I was probably wrong to take Sanchez first since nobody's said anything about him, so I probably could have waited until my next pick.

Both were on my short list, and I may have taken them if I didn't have to react to the closer run.

The last 3 picks were all great. Street was the top remaining closer, Desmond one of the best young players left in the draft, and Wigginton arguably may have been the best 1B and 2B and 3B left. I had my heart set on Wig and I thought I'd land him.

Of everyone else's picks, I like Storen and Torres the most. Like Jackson said, I can see Storen being kept next year.

I looked at how many MI positions remained to be filled on rosters and compared it to how many MI options remained that I considered decent...and Ian Desmond became a no-brainer. I just hope Bill James is right about him.

My vote for best pick of round 3 goes to Jackson's pick: Jair Jurrjens.
The kid is only a year removed from consecutive (almost) 200-inning seasons with pretty good numbers all around, doesn't turn 25 for another two weeks, and he's essentially the 237th pick in our draft.

Desmond's my pick of the bunch. Jurrjens would be second, but I don't see major upside in him. A lot of safer picks that people hope they can match their career best.

I've already expressed my disgust for Colin picking Desmond in a PM.
Do you have a problem, when your wife mentions all the scribbled notes with names and stats on them all over the house? Or do you have a problem when she starts organizing them for you? Or is it all just normal?

I'd say your lucky if your wife starts organizing them for you. My wife can't stand FBB. I find myself sneaking on here at times, lol.

Ouch. Quite the opposite in our house. I was chastised for watching the NFL this weekend by one of my kids...seems she thought I had lost the faith.

Sorry the delay, there was a house fire, I'll post the story tomorrow and I'll make my pick in a few minutes.

No it was a house these horders owned, five dogs and 10 cats, six of which are still missing.
The estimated cost of everything lost, $70,000

The estimated cost of everything lost, $70,000 I don't much care about their stuff...people who own a lot of stuff wind up being owned by their stuff...but it kills me that they had that many animals, because there's no way those animals were being properly cared for in a situation like that. And now it's cost some of them their lives. It's really sad.

Sorry about Lowrie, just don't have any confidence in Scutaro and in that line-up Lowrie could blend in and still have a great year.

Yeah, he probably knows. I bet he's at school most of the day today, though, and I don't think he had an exact idea of who he wanted so he might need to mull it over a bit.

I heard from Rob. He's at Physical Therapy right now so it might be a little while before he can pick. Plus, his keeper closer just signed to be the most expensive set-up man in history, and that kind of screwed up his draft strategy.

I was really hoping that Lowrie was going to slide. I thought that the fact that he doesn't have a bona fide starting position would push him down the board. Oh well (*no use crying over spilled milk*), he isn't going to get the playing time that I wanted anyway (*I'd rather talk sour grapes instead*)...
