Thanks man! Little Sean Matthew Ruckman was born just before noon today. Nineteen inches long, six pounds, twelve ounces. Fuckin' adorable little kid.

Congrats, Uncle Ruck!
But, uhhh...am I the only one here who's just a little worried that there's another Ruckman in the world?

We need more fantasy baseball geniuses roaming the Earth, in my opinion. It would make the ESPN Boards a little more tolerable. They want to fly out here with him this summer. I don't know good of an idea that is with Oklahoma's near-100 temps every day in July and August. April is probably a better time.

Hey guys, friendly reminder to please try to spell player's names right, especially with ESPN down we have to search these proboards to make sure someone isn't taken, and if their name isn't spelled right it looks like they weren't drafted. Thank you, enjoy the rest of your day.

This will be the first season I don't own Ryan Sweeney. He'll probably hit .310 with 18 HR and 20 SB...

I'm up the pick after next, but I'm about to get in a car for 4 hours. I won't be able to make my pick until 9pm pacific...but I will at that time.

Yup...you're up, Yoink.
Nellie's picked at 7:18 PM ET. As of 11:18 PM ET, Sleeve was skipped and you were up. You've got until 11:18 AM ET tomorrow before you get skipped.

Inge is my new "steal of the draft," as Dave didn't yet have a 3B and found one in the 26th round. Inge was probably the only 3B left who would actually contribute anything to a stat sheet, (besides Freese in the minor league draft) and if he could only raise his AVG 30 points to a respectable .250, he's the steal of the draft.

Damn. I was hoping Inge would make it until my pick at 14.16. I think he can easily hit .250-260 as long as his knees don't start barking like they did last season. I read that he had surgery on both of them in the offseason, and he says he'll be 100% by the start of ST.

Not that I'm ripping on the pick, but he's a lifetime .236 hitter with a .304 OBP, and that's a whole lot of negative value in those cats. I think predicting him at age 33 to get better is folly. Still, good pick for the round, and it could happen. Playing 3B definitely suits his health better.

I don't think predicting Inge will bat .250 is an "improvement," I just think it's saying that this is what he's done in the past when he's been healthy as a full-time 3B. A lot of his career he's spent time at catcher and/or has been hindered by his knees (because of playing catcher), and his offense has suffered at those times. He batted .265 over a 3-year span from 2004-06.
All I'm saying is that IF he stays healthy (and I will fully admit that's a big IF), then he's perfectly capable of batting .250-260, and he's perfectly capable of hitting 25+ HRs, because he's done both before. If he doesn't stay healthy, then we're likely to see another .230 season.

I'll be in class tonight from 6:30-9:30 CT, so if my pick comes up during that time, expect it not to happen until after 9:30 CT. I've got a short-list, so I know who I'll take.
If we get a break during class, I'll check my phone for texts. Since 14.16 and 15.01 are both mine, I might be able to text someone my picks to move things along.

someone call Buckner, my phone is dead. He's been skipped twice now I sent him a text hours ago. This must be his week to not give a shit...it comes and goes with him. I'll say it for the umpteenth time, that's the problem with having teenagers in a league- the only consistent thing about them is their inconsistentency.

He probably realizes he's $2,769,000 in the hole with seven roster spots still open.

I would be happy to take a player or two from Buckner for cash considerations! Seeing that I have the opposite problem of his squad, being that I am the minor league team of this fantasy league.

I think they should be required to forfeit $1M in payroll to the person who catches them first.
